Tim Hand
After gaining a music degree Tim spent 20 years working as a producer in live music. 15 of those years were with Oxford Contemporary Music, programming their concert series, running undergraduate student training, mentoring artists and managing all technical aspects of the organisation’s work, including large scale site specific sound art and performance.
For over a decade Tim also worked for London Jazz Festival, eventually as Technical Producer for its Southbank Centre and Barbican Concert Hall shows. Alongside this he tour managed several artists internationally including Max Richer, Kronos Quartet, Michael Nyman and Penguin Cafe. Tim has also worked on several classical chamber music festivals in the UK and Switzerland.
Tim’s work as a sound engineer for live music includes work in immersive sound, most notably mixing Aurora Orchestra’s 2021 performance of Beethoven’s 7th Symphony for an audience walking between the players. At the time thought to be one of the largest deployments of that particular immersive sound technology internationally.
An early career interest in broadcast and passion for the visual image re-emerged in 2020 and since then Tim has been leading on the filmmaking and stills photography side of our work, producing both promotional and documentary content for a wide range of clients across arts, culture and heritage. In 2024 Tim was selected for the Creative HQ Game Changer programme for documentary and film producers.

‘Watching the film we shot of contemporary artist Marina Abramović being presented as part of her 2022/ 23 exhibition at Modern Art Oxford with my stills in the beautifully made accompanying book’
Co-Directors Martin and Tim have over half a century of experience presenting arts, culture and heritage in both the commercial and funded sectors.
From music theatre to sound art installations, from anthropology to international music touring and contemporary art exhibitions, our passion for the arts comes with a sensitivity to the requirements of a wide range of cultures and contexts. Clients have praised TimHandProduction equally for our work with Indian classical musicians, vulnerable young people, internationally renowned visual artists and early career academics.
Taking great pride in our extended team, we select not only for ability and experience but also for temperament and cultural understanding, doing our best to ensure each project we undertake runs not only smoothly but also enjoyably, whether that’s in an international concert hall, school theatre, museum, gallery or university.

Martin Wiggins
Starting his career as a sound engineer in touring musical theatre, and winning awards early for his sound design skills, Martin has worked extensively in live sound, sound recording and production management across the corporate and funded sectors.
Martin has covered all manner of events from small college conferences to stadium-filling music events, from student theatre to the West End. He has worked both as Head of Sound for various production companies and for individual clients across the UK and internationally.
Martin toured Europe extensively as a sound engineer and tour manager on a long term basis for various artists. His experience spans genres from classical to folk, from indie rock to theatre and corporate events.
His particular passion for music theatre continues and extends now to regular work with schools and school pupils, often mentoring young technicians and advising on productions.
As a one-time musician Martin is as at home reading music as reading a script, as at home working with a string trio as being on a film set with Rajasthani folk musicians.
